Mizzou’s Family Covenant

The Mizzou Tigers aren’t just a football team; they’re a family. That family covenant was the topic of Tuesday’s Mizzou’s Foundation meeting.

The Mizzou family covenant is the backbone of everything we do. You’re either 100 percent in or 100 percent out. It’s not always going to be easy, but when the going gets tough, your brothers will be there to help you through it.

“The sooner you get on board with everything we do here, the easier it will be,” wide receiver Bud Sasser said.

“You’re not the only one going through this,” wide receiver Jimmie Hunt said. “Spring ball, fall camp, we’ve done it before. We can help.”

And although every member of the football family might not look, speak or act alike, they all have the same attitude: a winning attitude. Every single one of them is committed to the team bottom line and willing to sacrifice everything for the good of the family. Regardless of where they come from, all 131 players treat each other like brothers, with love and respect.

“We all come from different backgrounds, but I consider you brothers,” offensive lineman Mitch Morse said. “When the play is over we walk into the locker room together.”

At Mizzou, we are one family with one goal.
