Mizzou Tiger Song of the Week: Randy Ponder

Senior defensive back Randy Ponder loves the idea of fame and money. He would say “of course.”

However, his favorite song to listen to while he’s walking around on campus or before games is “Before the Rollie” by Ace Hood.

Ponder is aware that fame and money is the end goal, but while he’s here at Mizzou playing college football, there is something else that’s driving him: who he is and where he is from.

Ponder is a firm believer in remembering where you are from. When it is all said and done, you can’t take money and fame with you.

Money and fame is for the self. Every player has to play for something more than himself. This is what Ponder is about, and this is what Mizzou football is about. Within the last few weeks, Mizzou has gone undefeated in its first seven games for the first time since 2007.

With motives like Ponder’s to ponder, each new opponent will be hard-pressed to take down the Tigers.
