Mizzou Represented on Coaches’ Preseason All-SEC Teams
Five Tigers Selected to Preseason All-SEC Teams by the League’s Coaches
The SEC league office announced that five members of the Mizzou Football team were selected to the Preseason All-SEC teams on Thursday. E.J. Gaines, Marcus Murphy, Andrew Baggett, Justin Britt and Dorial Green-Beckham were all named to one of the teams.
Gaines, a senior cornerback from Independence, Mo., was named to the second team. Gaines is also on the Bednarik Award watchlist for his senior season. He is joined on the second team by Murphy, a junior running back and return specialist from DeSoto, Texas. Murphy was also named to Sports Illustrated’s Preseason All-American List.
Baggett, Britt, and Green-Beckham all received third team honors. Baggett, a sophomore placekicker from Lee’s Summit, Mo., was an SEC All-Freshman standout last season. Britt, a senior offensive lineman from Lebanon, Mo., anchors a finally-healthy offensive line that looks to clear paths for a strong spread option attack. Green-Beckham is the highly-touted sophomore receiver from Springfield, Mo., who led the team in receiving touchdowns last season with five.
