Mizzou Football Special Teams Play of the Week

,

The stakes were high—and the expectations even higher—for the Mizzou Tigers this past Saturday. Mizzou hosted Texas A&M in the pivotal last home game of the season for a spot in the SEC Championship. What a night it was for Mizzou fans.

The game was close all the way through, and if it were not for key plays like this Special Teams Play of the Week, the outcome could have differed in an unfavorable manner.

Junior punter Christian Brinser and senior wide receiver L’Damian Washington both contributed to this week’s outstanding special teams play. Brinser sent the ball soaring with a wild spiral through the air for 52 yards total.

The ball landed at the 2-yard line and moved slowly toward Singleton, who motioned the ball forward inch by inch before picking it up at its resting point. The Aggies would be left with a difficult position to recover from.

Congrats to these two players for their contribution to Mizzou’s win. More importantly, congratulations to all the players and Missouri Tigers’ fans who supported the team in one of the biggest wins not only this season, but in the school’s history.

Mizzou will face the Auburn Tigers this Saturday in Atlanta.
