Mizzou Football Offensive Play of the Week

,

Mizzou’s Offensive Play of the Week comes courtesy of senior quarterback James Franklin and sophomore wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham.

The play, a 68-yard touchdown toss from Franklin to Green-Beckham, highlights the show-stopping potential both players bring to the gridiron every game.

Franklin drops back with just more than 12 minutes left in the second quarter, looks and steps up to show off the arm that found him a place on the Davey O’Brien Watch List for the nation’s top quarterbacks at the start of the year.

The throw is high and hard and finds itself in the lap of Green-Beckham, who had sprinted past three Arkansas State defenders to the 20-yard line. Green-Beckham twists to catch the ball and glues it to his fingers before tucking it away.

Then the former number one recruit in the nation beats all three defenders to the end zone to put Mizzou up 13-7.

Green-Beckham led all Tiger receivers with 95 yards and two touchdowns on four catches. The sophomore already has 334 yards receiving and four scores this season, just one off his career high set in 2012.

Franklin was also in his routinely dominant form against Arkansas State. The senior piled up 225 yards in the air and three touchdowns on 20/29 passing. He also ran for 33 yards and a touchdown.

Missouri defeated Arkansas State 41-19 to improve to 4-0 on the season.
