Marcus Murphy Named to Sports Illustrated Preseason All-America Team

  Sports Illustrated named junior tailback Marcus Murphy to   their Preseason All-America Team today. Murphy returned   four touchdowns last season, including a 98-yard kickoff return against Alabama. Murphy’s three punt returns for touchdown set a Mizzou school record, and his four total return touchdowns were also a school record.

Murphy solidified himself as one of the best return men in the SEC, if not the nation, last season. He ranked second in the SEC and tenth in the NCAA with his season punt return average of 13.85 yards.

Murphy was also named to the Paul Hornung Preseason watch list. The Hornung Award is given to the country’s most versatile player.
