Ian Simon on the Hunt

Mizzou safety Ian Hunt enjoys hunting both on and off the field. In his free time, Simon hunts wild pigs as well as other animals. He has been hunting since the sixth grade. Simon compares hunting off the field to hunting on the field: He has to be focused and locked in on his targets on the field.

The junior from Mansfield, Texas, has been improving year after year. In 2012, Simon played in 10 games and had 14 tackles. Then in 2013, he became a trusted member of the secondary with 42 tackles and his first career interception. He also received the 2013 spring team most improved safety. In 2014, Mizzou coaches look for Simon to put his hunting skills to good use. He will be a veteran safety where his leadership will play a crucial role.Simon comes into the season at the top of the depth chart and plans to major in Business at Mizzou.
