Governor Nixon Thanks Mizzou Football For Respect Team Has Brought Missouri

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon talked to the Mizzou football team last week before the SEC Championship Game and thanked them for the respect they have brought the entire state of Missouri.

“First and foremost, thank you,” Nixon said. “I stood in front of this group as you broke camp this year, and at that time I said to you that the state of Missouri was watching, not only whether you won or lost or whether you were competitive, but how you represented our state.

“And I said to you that I thought that was important. I know your coaches amplify that in each of their discussions with you. I want to tell you that you all have comported yourself, not only as winners but as an asset to the entire Show-Me State. On behalf of six million Missourians, I want to thank you for doing that.”
