,

The Mizzou Tigers received their 2014 Cotton Bowl trophy on Saturday at halftime of the Mizzou men’s basketball game. The Tigers defeated Oklahoma State to capture the 78th Cotton Bowl Classic and cap off an incredible 12-win season that also included an SEC East title. In addition, seven Tigers earned All-SEC honors, including unanimous first-team All-American Michael Sam, who was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year. Head Coach Gary Pinkel raised the trophy high to a standing ovation, and excitement erupted into elation when he passed it to Sam. Offensive tackle Mitch Morse was the next to handle it, and the cheers rang steady throughout Mizzou Arena until the last football player stepped off the court.
